IEEE International Workshop on Big Data Security and Services in conjunction with IEEE BigDataService 2017

Big Data has been at the heart of the Smart City, the Internet of Things, and Social Communities, all of which need to offer services, intelligence, and security. We still need to develop appropriate solutions for the management of Big Data in a secure way. This workshop aims to discuss better solutions for the management and security of Big Data, which may include (1) system design for Big Data Security, (2) state-of-art data engineering schemes for Big Data Security, (3) service design and use cases for Big Data Security, and (4) application-oriented security systems for Big Data.

A myriad of devices are connected to each other, and the resulting interconnected network generates a huge amount of data related to networks, systems, and social communities. However, we need assurances about the security and the reliability of the generated data, privacy issues raised when using interconnected devices, and the secure management of Big Data. We need to find solutions for managing and securing systems in newly emerging infrastructures using Big Data. Thus, in this workshop, in order to discover and discuss better solutions, we welcome papers that explore service platforms (i.e., network systems, architecture, data models and algorithms) that effectively integrate the 'Internet of Things' and 'Big Data' from the perspective of security for data, networks, systems, and applications.
The workshop topics in Smart City, Big Data, and IoT include, but are limited to:

Submission Information
We respect the works inspired by practical studies with real world interactions because this workshop wants to input the story of real security needs or industrial requirements into the discussion. We also welcome work-in-progress papers. The length of a camera ready paper will be limited to 6 pages (IEEE Proceedings style) with up to 2 additional pages (with charges for each additional page) printed on 10-12 point fonts. Authors must follow IEEE Proceedings Author Guidelines to prepare papers with the template. At least one of the authors of each accepted paper is required to pay full registration fee and present the paper at the workshop in person.

The accepted papers will be published as the part of IEEE BigDataService 2017 Proceedings by IEEE CPS and included inside IEEE Xplore digital library. The workshop program will be included as a part of IEEE BigDataService 2017 program. The selected papers with extensions will be recommended for publication in SCI Index and EI Index Journals.
